More cocktails to tempt and delight

We recently introduced three of the intriguing cocktails now being served in the Shanghai Bar, and this week bring you three more to tempt and delight, chosen for their complex and unusual flavours as well as their beautiful presentation!

The perfect aperitif, our Chinese 75 is an elegant Champagne cocktail blending Santa Rita sweet wine, our home-made hibiscus flower infusion and Cointreau, topped up with Veuve Clicquot.

No Smoke Without Fire, served in a tall wooden tumbler and garnished with a pineapple leaf, combines Tapatio Blanco tequila and Chambord – black raspberry liqueur – with pineapple juice, mint, passion fruit, fresh raspberries and Peychaud’s bitters for a drink that’s both smoky and sweet with just a little acidity.

The Dragon Tail meanwhile blends Belvedere vodka with lemongrass, ginger, lemon juice and honey, with just a hint of oyster sauce which gives this cocktail, served Martini-style, a subtly savoury note encouraging leisurely enjoyment. An asparagus spear coated in sesame is not just for decoration – tasted along with the drink it creates an exotic extra dimension of taste.

Join us in the Shanghai bar any time – you don’t have to be dining with us – and discover our cocktails for yourself.
