Hutong signs up to GREAT China Welcome Charter

Posted on April 10, 2014

We are delighted to announce that Hutong has become one of the first signatories of Visit Britain’s GREAT China Welcome Charter, which launched recently with a reception at Blenheim Palace.

Recognising the huge increase in recent years, and the economic and cultural importance, of tourism to Great Britain from China, the Charter identifies businesses which have demonstrated that they are, or are committed to being, ‘China Ready’ – able to provide specialised levels of service to visitors from China to ensure that they get the most of their visit to Britain.

Hutong offers many ‘China Ready’ services, including Mandarin-speaking staff, menus in Chinese and authentic northern Chinese cuisine. Guests can also pay using UnionPay, the most widely-held payment card in China.

In signing up to the Charter, Hutong joins prestigious major companies such as British Airways, Value Retail and Hilton Worldwide, the cities of Birmingham and Manchester, and small-medium businesses as diverse as Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths’ Shop and Scudamore’s Punting of Cambridge, all of whom gave fascinating presentations at the recent GREAT China Welcome Summit in London on how they are ‘China Ready’.

All guests are as welcome as each other here at Hutong, but we recognise that different guests have different needs and expectations. We hope that signing the GREAT China Welcome Charter shows our commitment to meeting those needs!
